She's tough, but not numb!

After a fun afternoon at the lake, I made enchiladas for dinner tonight. The sauce I normally use was sold out so I went for an alternate. Mikayla would shovel about 10 bites in really fast - seemingly enjoying it, then stop, yell with her mouth wide open, chug a BUNCH of water and repeat. Apparently it was a little spicier than normal, but the kid cleaned her plate! LOL

Dads, Ducks and Cowboys!

Another whirlwind month! Since my last post, John found a rattle snake caught in my tomato netting - fortunately it was dead before he got it with the weed eater and we had an Internet outage (isolated to our house) that lasted nearly the entire month! During that time I became close to the gals at the coffee shop and familiar with everyone's workout routines, as the coffee shop happens to be located in the gym. (There are definitely Del Rio moments to help you keep your eye on the end game.)

Can rattle snakes poison themselves?

John's off and running in theT-1 training program and doing great. He's flying a lot, spending even more time in the flight room and seems to be enjoying all of it, well, most of it. The schedule is a bit harsh right now and the 5:15 AM show times get pretty early by the end of the week, yet he's finding a way to balance everything and makes time each night to take Mikayla on a few laps around the house.

My Dad and brother treated us to a visit over Fathers Day weekend and we quickly showed them the full Del Rio experience - base, downtown, the lake, base... All jokes aside we had a great time and Pat discovered that even small phones don't swim well.

"I'm not sure if this is a lifejacket or a neck brace, but PLEASE, just let me sleep."

"I'm not sure if there's room to eat in this bumble bee outfit Mom has me in, but this apple isn't too bad."

Napping on the Del Rio Sea.

"Who are you calling a diva?"

"Uncle Pat Pile!"
Feeling out the beat before she jumps in.
For Fathers Day, Mikayla surprised Papa with a Red Sox T-Shirt and a new ball cap, in just her size!

Happy First Fathers Day Papa!

Soemthing in not porportional here...

"Bring on the donuts!"

Towards the end of the month, Mikayla turned 10 months old and the two of us headed to St. Augustine, FL for the annual Revolution Renunion. It's crazy to think it's been eight years since we all crashed the beach house for the summer. Between us, the group is four kids larger, all of whom think having a huge extended family is pretty darn cool.

The trip crossed off Mikayla's 11th state! I'm not sure how long we're going to be able to maintain her record for visiting more states than she is months old, but we're doing what we can.

Sleeping on boats is becoming a trend.

"Did you see that, let's get 'em"

"Big kids are AWESOME!"

Fun times on the beach.

Rockin the day away.

The Revolution continues.

How about one more hug.

"Wrapped around my finger."

"We should nap here everyday."

We welcomed our newest Revolution addition to the party, little Miss Sydney Amaya!

"Oh yeah, now we're talking!"

So many kiddos to cuddle!

By the end of the weekend, Mikayla was zonked, Mommy too!

On the way home from Florida, Mikayla and I celebrated my birthday with a picnic lunch in Uvalde, TX where we stopped to feed the ducks! When we got home, John surprised me with a birthday celebration commemorating just how close I am to having to become an adult.

Who needs more teeth with a smile like that?

"Get out and vote today!"

"Hah, you thought I was serious."

"Who are these long necked friends?"
While the month was crazy we all survived and had a little fun along the way. We wound down last weekend, celebrating the Fourth of July at home. However we couldn't resist the urge for at least one little  day trip. This time we headed to San Angelo, TX, where, as much as I tried not to, and as cute as the town was, I couldn't get the polygamy case out of my mind! Nevertheless, we had a nice day and Mikayla met her first cowboy/wine maker/former Oakland Raider - yep, only in Texas.

"Tell me again, are you a cowboy or a football player?"
The perfect perch.
Someone thinks her Papa's not too bad.
