Another whirlwind month! Since my last post, John found a rattle snake caught in my tomato netting - fortunately it was dead before he got it with the weed eater and we had an Internet outage (isolated to our house) that lasted nearly the entire month! During that time I became close to the gals at the coffee shop and familiar with everyone's workout routines, as the coffee shop happens to be located in the gym. (There are definitely Del Rio moments to help you keep your eye on the end game.)

John's off and running in theT-1 training program and doing great. He's flying a lot, spending even more time in the flight room and seems to be enjoying all of it, well, most of it. The schedule is a bit harsh right now and the 5:15 AM show times get pretty early by the end of the week, yet he's finding a way to balance everything and makes time each night to take Mikayla on a few laps around the house.
My Dad and brother treated us to a visit over Fathers Day weekend and we quickly showed them the full Del Rio experience - base, downtown, the lake, base... All jokes aside we had a great time and Pat discovered that even small phones don't swim well.

For Fathers Day, Mikayla surprised Papa with a Red Sox T-Shirt and a new ball cap, in just her size!

Towards the end of the month, Mikayla turned
10 months old and the two of us headed to St. Augustine, FL for the annual Revolution Renunion. It's crazy to think it's been eight years since we all crashed the beach house for the summer. Between us, the group is four kids larger, all of whom think having a huge extended family is pretty darn cool.
The trip crossed off Mikayla's 11th state! I'm not sure how long we're going to be able to maintain her record for visiting more states than she is months old, but we're doing what we can.

By the end of the weekend, Mikayla was zonked, Mommy too! |
On the way home from Florida, Mikayla and I celebrated my birthday with a picnic lunch in Uvalde, TX where we stopped to feed the ducks! When we got home, John surprised me with a birthday celebration commemorating just how close I am to having to become an adult.

While the month was crazy we all survived and had a little fun along the way. We wound down last weekend, celebrating the Fourth of July at home. However we couldn't resist the urge for at least one little day trip. This time we headed to San Angelo, TX, where, as much as I tried not to, and as cute as the town was, I couldn't get the polygamy case out of my mind! Nevertheless, we had a nice day and Mikayla met her first cowboy/wine maker/former Oakland Raider - yep, only in Texas.
